Websites to use in Friday's class

I'd like you to do some research today. Many of you used references in your essays, but not all the websites were particularly good sources of information. How can you know which websites to use in your essays? How can you trust the information you find? How can you reference websites?
There is an excellent tutorial from Intute which will help you answer those questions. Try to answer the questions on the worksheet as you go through it.

For any of you who have trouble with sentence structure, the following website is a good place to review what you know. It talks about simple, complex and compound sentences, linkers and relative clauses.


If you don't know about the Academic Word list, now is the time to find out.


Try copying your essay into the AWL Highlighter. Are you using enough academic vocabulary??
